Sounds like you made that fight tougher by rolling attack speed for 'all' opponents. You choose one opponent (moulder or skelly) and roll for attack speed as normal. So if you chose moulder, you would roll attack speed for your hero and for moulder. You would not roll for skelly. So basically, you have to think about who you should defeat first - taking into account their abilities, passives etc.

Yesterday I met Mould and Skelly. This is hard challenge for green quest. I must roll for me and then roll once for Mould and once for Skelly. The highest result win the round. Skelly take me down 1 point of speed and this make the fight so hard especially in this early etap in the game. I had some ability to avoid the loss, but ...

Going solely on LoS (I'm still on Act 1 of HoF), I would have to say:

Necromancer and Skeleton encounter in 'Winter's Hill'

and

Lorcan in 'The Betrayed'.

Edit:

Adding 'Mortzilla' from HoF - but only if you don't have the 'Boogie's Booster' ability (and possibly the 'Infected Wound' ability as well). I just fought him using the 'Wind Guardian', 'Shadow Shift' and 'Earth Fist' abilities and it took me 29 attempts to beat him - and even then I had to 'cheat' by using my 'Charm' ability on my last Speed roll in that last fight - otherwise I'd have still been fighting him right into next week I think. So let this be a warning - do NOT try to take on Mortzilla without the 'Boogie's Booster' ability because it's way too painful otherwise. Having said that, if you do have 'Boogie's Booster', this fight is too easy. I never had any issues with him on my last two run throughs - he's a pushover with that ability equipped. The worst thing is, you can't even buy potions that might help you in Act 2 either (OK - maybe the healing potion from Yootha, but that will only delay the inevitable once you're down to 0 Speed, so you'll drain your money buying those).

Not feeling happy about continuing this playthrough now as I feel like I've cheated - but I just couldn't stand another go at fighting this opponent.

Snapjaw is the nemesis for characters that rely on passive abilities like Bleed. By the end of the seventh turn, every hero will be dead (56 damages), unless he has some healing potion. The plant must be killed so very quickly.

Hydra, on the other hand, is even harder, as you have to deal an average of 20 damages per turn. Piercing comes in handy, as any other ability that lets roll multiple dice for damage.
The special achievement looks pretty futile because, if you did not bring the beast down during the first three turns, it is unlikely that you are doing it afterwards, having already spent a few of your abilities.

I never, ever, defeated either Kindle or Magmageddon. I think I should try the "nerfed" version, next time I play.

Did no one else find the banshee combat incredibly hard? It lasted me forever with my chaarcters because of the heal keeping it alive. Much, much harder than Malcontent but I suppose I was taking less damage during it all, so less chance I was ever going to die.

If your factoring speed then I would agree that mally is hard to beat in a deathmatch. If we are looking soley at abilities then I think snap jaw has got the edge. Passive damage what increases every round with no upper limit. That would cream the opposition because there is no defense against it.

So Snap jaw vs Malcontent has to be ultimate legendery monster chaos!!

Malcontent, he would steam through anything I reckon. His heal is too godly.

Malcontent is a legendary in Act 3. Hardest in the game as he heals the damage he deals and has nasty passive damage. Him and Flay seem tough for any build.

What king louis, the monkey that hits 15 minus armor per turn... Pretty tough for any mage or rogue... As a witchfinder, I managed to kill quickly with sear and peircing+ crtical strike and deep wound. But with 2 armor, it was very close!

There is another tough one in act 2. I've forgotten his name but he cancels your special powers...

Where do you fight malcontent? Is he a dangerous enconter in act 3?

I don't know about other classes but the final boss is not very diffcult!

I agree mostly with your list Perceval but I think the blob should be up there in the top five spot. He has a ton of health to get through and if you lose a few rounds he hits really hard! I found that fight difficult with my cavalaier but i think it is a fight that favours high dps.

My top ten "worst fights" from a warrior perspective

1. snap jaw
2. malcontent
3. hydra (for the special achievement)
4. chilblain
5. rottaghast
6. leviathan
7. anything with piercing
8. mage hunter and boss combo (nightmare!!!)
9. noldor
10. zalladrell

I know that doesn't count the seared scar bosses but we know they are insanely hard, goes without saying!

The two bosses in seared scar must be the hardest fights. magmageddon and the dragon. I haven't been able to kill either of those yet. I found that there are a few hard fights in the second act like the snapjaw and hydra. very challenging!

I'm fighting my way through act3 with my second hero (mage). Once again I am getting trounced by Malcontent and his annoying regeneration ability. I was wondering what other players found their most difficult fight and why.

Time for Round 4 with Malcontent. Gonna try again :o/
